The Whole World is Watching

Things are heating up in the city. I took the train in and started receiving messages on my cellphone about police action at various places around the city. I headed to the Shut the Fox Up! Demonstration, , concerned about a lot of police action. I ran into an old friend and spoke with some of the legal aid people Apparently, it looked dicey for a little while as the police cordoned off some of the area. However, very few arrests seemed to have taken place.

I was told that there was some action going on at the public library, so I walked down there. I took a bunch of pictures that I’ll upload later. There were a few arrests. I posted an audio blog or two about this. I’ll listen to this and post more later.

Over at The Tank, Majority Report is broadcasting live. Click on their link to get another good description of the Shut the Fox Up! Demonstration.

As I write this, I get a phone call from my friend, who stopped by The Tank, and then was heading home. He reports that there are probably 75 cops around. People started sitting down in the streets and people are starting to get arrested. Five or six legal guys are around observing. People are chanting “Let’s take back the streets”, “The whole world is watching” and when police mistreat people during the arrests, “Shame!”
