The Principles Project
In case anyone's been wondering why I've been so quiet lately, I've acquired a very dangerous habit: The Principles Project. I'm addicted and may need rehab, but I'd much rather stay on this democracy stuff. It's exhilarating!
The Principles Project is an online collaboration that brings back my residual memories from the founding of this country. When I go there to read and offer suggestions, I picture myself sitting in a candle-lit tavern in colonial Williamsburg with a few good friends and a few good refreshments, talking into the night about how to create the future United States. Of course, in those days a woman would not be there. Explains a lot (just kidding, guys!).
The Principles Project is "an online space where progressives can engage in discussion to help generate a one-page statement of principles that will make clear our vision of a just society and a progressive politics." To find out more, go here. But hurry, the drafting process is in its last phase. And don't be mad at me, I got there late, too.
See you there!
