What’s buried in 71-year-old McCain medical records?
Author: Jim Warren
It’s often said about “open” government, that the best way to hide something is to bury it in a mountain of “public” records.
Regarding John McCain’s everso-brief “disclosure” of his medical records, CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta reported,
“… At promptly 7:30 a.m. PT [on Friday beginning a holiday weekend], we were taken to a conference room and handed three stacks of paper, nearly 1,200 papers in all and told we had exactly three hours to review them. I am still not sure I understand why there was so little time given to review so many papers. …”
Why did McCain so-severely limit the time? Why were no copying or recording devices allowed? What is he worried might be discovered if ADEQUATE review time was allowed?
What might such discoveries tell voters about his ability to perform as needed, if he became the oldest person ever elected to the pressure-cooker position of President?
We voters will never know.
Dr. Gupta added, “I am pretty convinced there was no “smoking gun” about the Senator’s health.”
Would YOU want to be diagnosed in a potentially life-threatening situation - the presidency IS life-threatening, for us all! - by a physician who had never-before seen you professionally, who took less than three hours to review 1,200 pages of YOUR medical history?!
Additionally, in one-only of Gupta’s several on-camera reports about this, he said that McCain’s blood pressure was, “134 over 84 - fine.”
But that was just one b.p. reading - out of 1,200 pages. Was it the worst? Or merely the only one that McCain’s record-keepers made easiest to find?
Either way, various physicians - including a full professor of cardiology at one of the nation’s leading medical schools - say 120/80 used to be considered okay, but there’s increasing evidence that it is important to try to keep it down to 110/70 or lower.
McCain’s “Straight Talk Express” needs to be more forthcoming and less repressive about some of his background information that voters NEED to know!
